My World: The smoking ban is not so bad

I wrote an article last quarter about the ban on smoking in public places. At that point I was having mixed feelings about whether or not I liked the idea because I work at Buffalo Wild Wings and I believed it might ruin our business, therefore me not getting as many tips as desired.

The other half of me loved the new rule because now I could go into restaurants and not go home smelling like smoke, which I absolutely hated. Now I am writing and changing my opinion of the whole subject because for some time now the restaurant I have worked at for three years has been smoke free. Since the ban we have had more big families come in, which means more food and a bigger bill.

For those of you who don't know what I am getting at, this means way bigger tips. I do have my regulars that come in and wish they could still smoke there, but I have told them that I like this much better because the tables turn faster. What I mean by this is that people come in, eat, and get out. They don't hang around, drink, and smoke cigarettes anymore, which is good for me because more people come in.

I am now happy that the smoking ban took place, and I hope it stays in affect.
