Nathan is from Jeffersonville, Indiana, a suburb of Louisville, Kentucky. He graduated high school when he was 16. He then attended Bible College at Tennessee Temple University, where he studied music and theology.
In 2000, he left Bible College to join the Marine Corps as an infantryman. He has served in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and Operation Iraqi Freedom, currently ranking Sergeant. Having finished his active duty in November 2004, he went on to work for Tristate Financial Services in Louisville as an estate/retirement planner.
His role in the Student Government is that of Treasurer, and he also is a senator for the Undergraduate Student Senate for the University. He is on the RWC Strategic Planning Committee and Student Affairs Committee and the Student Services Committee for the University.
Nathan has played a huge part in getting wireless to our campus. To facilitate this objective, Nathan had a meeting with Steve Young, the IT Director at Clermont College, and Fred Siff, the Chief Information Officer for the University. He then took the information to the students, faculty, and administration of RWC to benefit the decision-making process. Plans to have the students and faculty on wireless are scheduled to take effect in September of this year.
Nathan also represents Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, where he is the Alumni Relations Chairman. In his spare time, he works in the payroll department at the VA Hospital and also mentors and tutors under-privileged children for the Cincinnati Youth Collaborative.
Nathan has decided that his future will continue at another university once he completes his program at RWC. He has been accepted into Miami University and Fisher College of Business at Ohio State University. Miami University has offered him a full-ride scholarship package, and he is waiting on his award package from OSU.
Once all of his scholarship offers are received from both schools, he will make his decision as to where he will be furthering his education.
