Walking around RWC, you would probably never imagine how much work and effort it takes to keep this place up and running. Some say it's just the help of the maintenance crew. But now some are starting to say it's the help of the "Fix It Crew," mainly because you can find them pitching in just about anywhere. You can find them in places such as the mail room or helping out with the night walk program. Some staff say they have even found themselves jump starting students' cars.

But believe it or not, even though the majority of their work seems as though it's done in the evening, it's not. It actually is done at night.

Staff on the night shift say that their day usually starts at 10:30 p.m. and ends around 6:30 a.m. RWC Head of Housekeeping Loretta Wade can explain how much time and preparation go into the job. She can also tell you how housekeeping can have one of the most difficult tasks, dealing with floor management. And it can be even more demanding when the crew is short handed, as sometimes happens.

Furthermore, there are almost 5,000 of us students and so few of the Fix It Crew, so every little effort from students helps, like just picking up after ourselves and others and reporting spills as soon as they happen.

Ms. Loretta says that students should see RWC as their home and always keep it ready for visitors.
